Who was Ashley?
Ashley’s Angel Fund Inc. was established in 2000 in memory of a wonderful golden
retriever named Ashley (click here for Ashley’s entire
story). When Ashley was faced with a series of life-threatening medical
problems in 1998, her owners spared no expense to provide for the care and
treatment of their beloved companion. Realizing how fortunate they were that
they could afford the expense and knowing that not everyone can make that
decision so easily, they established Ashley's Angel Fund to honor Ashley's life
and to help make it possible for dog owners to pursue treatment for their pet's
life-threatening condition.
Ashley’s Angel Fund initially partnered with four veterinary hospitals in the
Raleigh, North Carolina area, and was able to financially assist five dog owners
and their pets through a medical crisis in their first year of operation. In
the second year, we expanded our affiliations to include two additional
veterinary practices, and assisted nineteen dogs and their owners. We also
added the Zach Memorial Fund, a special fund set aside specifically to assist
dogs facing cancer.
As of the end of the 2004, we have provided financial assistance to over 100 dogs and their owners. Every one of these has their own unique story,
with the common thread being that our support enabled them to receive veterinary
care for a life-threatening condition (click

We are totally dependent on
fundraisers and public donations to fund our operations. We have a loyal group
of volunteers who assist us with our year-round fundraising events, and we work
with several area dog rescue organizations to further extend our reach into the
local community. If you would like to volunteer your time or make a
contribution, please contact us (link to
